Ulyukaev as Bukharin of our time

Historical eras in Russia are separated from each other with significant trials. The era of great terror is the path from the work of the industrial Party to the Kirov case and from it - to the "great processes" over the right and left slope. This ended all the processes such as the “business of doctors” who signaled the onset of the fiasco system. The era of Putin so far is the road from the Yukos case to the Magnitsky case and from him to Kirovles. This continues all the governor's processes, part of which, in fact, is the case of Ulyukaev. This is the intermediate finale of the evolution of the post -communist repressive system.

In the coming days, the sentence to Alexei Ulyukaev will be disassembled in detail, and all the main thing that has not yet been said, others will write, so I would like to offer ten abstracts about the notorious, about what can be considered notes on the fields of the political process that precedes the new presidential term of Vladimir Putin.

1. The role of the president

In fact, Putin predetermined the fate of Ulyukaev with one phrase at a press conference directly preceding the announcement of the sentence. Openly taking Sechin, who is not just the main one, but, in fact, the only witness to the crime, Putin made a conviction inevitable. Of course, from a legal point of view, Putin twisted the card, but for the general public it remained inconspicuous. He covered Sechin with the words that there was nothing terrible in his failure to appear in court, they say, for the court there is enough data on the preliminary investigation. But this is the whole problem of this process: without the appearance of Sechin, the judge cannot use testimonies to the court to justify the accusation. Therefore, they were excluded from the case file after Sechin ignored the demand to appear at the meeting four times (this is generally a separate issue - about failure to fulfill the requirements of the court). That is, the court has nothing to make a sentence on: a black hole was formed in the place of the main and only evidence. Putin shut up this hole with himself and untied the judge of his hand. Thus, the myth of the neutrality of the president was scattered. In my opinion, in Russia there are no and there will never be iconic sentences issued without Putin’s personal approval, as there were no sign sentences of the 30s, issued without the approval of Stalin.
