Russia and China are the main threat to the interests of the United States. This is stated in the new American national security strategy published on the White House website.
“China and Russia are threatened with the power, influence and interests of the United States, trying to undermine their security and well -being,” the document says. “They seek to introduce restrictions on the world economy, make it less fair, increase their military potential, put control of information in order to put pressure on society and spread their own influence.”
"The combination of Russian ambitions and growing military capabilities creates instability in Eurasia, where the risk of conflict is growing in connection with Russian incorrect assessments of the situation," the authors of the document say.
The strategy notes Russia's intervention in the internal affairs of many countries. “Thanks to the advanced forms of intelligence tactics, Russia intervenes in the internal political affairs of countries around the world,” the document says. “By its invasion of Georgia and Ukraine, Russia demonstrated the willingness to violate the sovereignty of the states of the region. Russia continues to intimidate its neighbors with threatening behavior, such as demonstration of nuclear potential and the deployment of offensive opportunities.”
With the help of "information tools", Russia is trying to harm democracy, the authors of the strategy note. “Generations by our society defended the freedom of the press, freedom of speech and freedom of thought. Today, countries like Russia use information tools to harm the legitimacy of democracies,” the document says. “Their campaigns are combined by secret reconnaissance operations, fake accounts, media media, third parties and receiving money for their activities in social networks, so -called so -called people "Trolls".
In the second group of threats, the authors of the document included the "Rogi regimes", such as North Korea and Iran, who want to create weapons of mass destruction, support terrorism and conduct other destabilizing activities. The last group includes transnational terrorist organizations and criminal syndicates.
"We are faced with the forces competing with us - Russia and China - who want to challenge the USA in the world and our values. We will try to establish a large -scale partnership with these and other countries, but so that our national interests are always protected," President Donald Trump said , representing the strategy.
As an example, Trump brought the transfer of the CIA data to the Russian side, which allowed us to prevent a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg . “However, trying to find such opportunities for cooperation, we will protect ourselves and our country as we have never defended before,” the president emphasized.
