2016 Terrorist attack in Berlin

A year ago, on December 19, 2016, a semi-trailer truck drove into a crowded Christmas market at Breitscheidplatz in Berlin's Charlottenburg district. Having passed between the shops and breaking through the shopping row, the truck again drove onto the adjacent street and soon stopped, after which the driver took to flight.

As a result of a collision under the wheels of a truck, 11 people died, more than 50 were injured. The body of the Polish driver Ariel Zhuravsky, who was killed by a terrorist, was found in the truck. The terrorist himself, 24-year-old Tunisian Anis Amri, associated with ISIS, was killed five days later, on December 23, near Milan in a shootout with police.
