The ONF announced the date of Putin's presidential nomination

Vladimir Putin was nominated as a candidate for the presidency of Russia at a meeting of the initiative group on December 26. Alexei Anisimov, head of the executive committee of the All-Russian Popular Front, told Interfax about this.

According to TASS, a meeting of the initiative group, which will include representatives of the ONF, the United Russia party and the Volunteers of Victory movement, will be held at VDNKh.

Vladimir Putin instructed the head of the State Duma Committee on Culture, Stanislav Govorukhin, to convene the initiative group, an informed source of Interfax said.

The electoral headquarters of Vladimir Putin will perform technical functions, the so-called headquarters of public support is not planned to be formed, Anisimov said.

• Vladimir Putin announced his intention to run for another presidential term on December 6 at a meeting with workers at the Gorky Automobile Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. On December 14, at the annual press conference, the president announced that he would go to the polls as a self-nominated candidate.
• To register as a candidate, Vladimir Putin needs to collect 300,000 voter signatures. Also, in support of his nomination, an initiative group of at least 500 people should be formed.
