
The UN General Assembly approved the resolution "The Regulation in the Field of Human Rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine". This was reported by the UN News Center.
For the adoption of the document, 70 votes were filed with 76 abstained. 26 countries voted against the resolution. These are Russia, Armenia, Belarusia, Bolivia, Burundi, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, China, DPRK, Cuba, Manyam, Nicaragua, Serbia, Syria, Sudan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Uganda, Filipina, Eritrene and South Africa.
The preamble of the resolution speaks of the condemnation of the "temporary occupation by Russia of part of the territory of Ukraine - the autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol" and confirms non -recognition of the annexation.
The document is condemned "violations, infringement of human rights, discriminatory measures and practice against residents of temporarily occupied Crimea, including Crimean Tatars, as well as Ukrainians and persons belonging to other ethnic and religious groups, from the Russian occupation authorities", as well as "illegal establishment by the Russian Federation of laws, jurisdiction and management in occupied Crimea."
The resolution also contains the requirement to comply with Russia "obligations under international law regarding the respect of the laws in force in Crimea before the occupation." Moscow is called to "completely and immediately implement the Decree of the International Court of April 19, 2017 on temporary measures in the lawsuit of Ukraine against the Russian Federation", including the cancellation of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
At the same plenary meeting of the General Assembly adopted a resolution proposed by Russia to fight the heroization of Nazism. The document emphasizes that all states should prohibit any "honoring of the Nazi regime." As in November, when voting in the third (humanitarian) committee, the United States and Ukraine opposed this resolution. Representatives of 133 countries voted for the document. Another 49 states, including Germany, Poland, France, Sweden and other countries of the European Union under the vote, abstained.
On November 1, the draft resolution on annexed Crimea entered the UN Ukraine . The co -authors of the document were 34 countries. On November 14 this year, the resolution approved the third committee of the General Assembly . There, delegations voted for him 71 countries, 77 abstained and 25 voted against.

On April 19, the UN International Court in The Hague ordered Russia to cancel the ban on the Medzhlis of the Crimean Tatar people and remove other restrictions on the representation of their interests by the Crimean Tatars. This is one of the interim measures taken by the court during the consideration of the claim of Kyiv for Moscow regarding the violation of the Convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination. Another measure was the imposition of the obligation to restore training in Ukrainian in the annexed Crimea.
“At the moment, the court has come to the conclusion that the Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians in Crimea are in a vulnerable position,” the adoption of such measures in the court decision was explained.
