Apple plans to make an App Store Application store multi -platform. The project, called Marcipan, will allow you to launch mobile applications on MAC computers, Bloomberg reports .

The reason is the problems with the Mac App Store, created specifically for company computers. After launch in 2011, the service never brought significant income (although it sells expensive software packages, for example, Final Cut Pro), moreover, even free applications do not attract a large number of users.

The upcoming changes will allow developers to spend less time to develop their applications, because they will be able to make a single program for phones, tablets and computers.

The author of Bloomberg notes that another problem by the Mac App Store is a rare exit of updates for the programs offered in the store. The most famous case is Twitter's official client. For years he does not receive updates, while the versions for iPhones and iPad tablets come in a timely manner every few weeks. For example, because of this, the application for Mac still has a limit of 140 characters instead of 280.

Most likely, the App Store update will be presented at a conference for WWDC developers in 2018. As always, users will gain access to the new App Store in versions of iOS 12 and MacOS 10.14 in the fall of the same year.
