
The Basmanny District Court extended Moscow until April 1, 2018, the arrest of the former deputy of the Kaliningrad Regional Duma, the editor -in -chief of the newspaper New Wheels Igor Rudnikov. This was reported by the correspondent of "faces" from the courtroom.
On November 2, Rudnikov was detained. A case was initiated against him under part 3 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code (extortion on an especially large scale, from 7 to 15 years in prison). According to investigators, the chief editor of the "new wheels" demanded 50 thousand dollars from the head of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Viktor Ledenev. In return, the editor -in -chief allegedly promised to stop publishing information that “defeated” Ledenev.
The deputy’s assistant Yuri Grozymi called the provocation. According to him, the money was in the folder with the case file about the attempt on Rudnikov in March 2016. According to Grony, Rudnikov agreed on their transfer with Ledenev and received a folder from his hands.
On November 4, the Central District Court of Kaliningrad arrested Rudnikov until January 1 .
On November 23, at the request of the regional prosecutor's office, Rudnikov was deprived of deputy powers . At the meeting of the regional Duma, he performed. In the words of the prosecutor of the Kaliningrad region, Sergei Khlopushin, as a result of the audit, it turned out that in August 2013, Rudnikov received a US permanent resident card (United States Permanent Resident Card) until March 19, 2026. In this way, the prosecutor noted, the deputy during two election campaigns hid the fact of receiving a residence permit in the United States. Rudnikov also did not send a written notice to the FMS about the presence of a document for the right to permanently reside in another state, which is a criminal offense, Khlopushin added.
Some deputies spoke out against the deprivation of Rudnikov powers. However, as a result of the vote, the chief edges of the "new wheels" were deprived of the deputy status.
