Moscow authorities suspected thousands of Moscow region taxis of obtaining a license to drive on dedicated lanes
The Moscow Department of Transport submitted to the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow Region materials on 17,000 cars near Moscow, which are registered as taxis, but, presumably, do not carry passengers. This is reported by Open Media, citing a source in the department.
These cars have the wrong design - there is no special lantern and "checkers", as well as the wrong color. Many of these cars are expensive brands such as Porsche, Mercedes and Rolls-Royce.
The department assumes that the owners of these cars have received a taxi license to drive in dedicated lanes for public transport, the source said. As Open Media writes, in the Moscow Region, “numerous” sites provide the service of registering as a taxi for trips along dedicated lanes; it costs from two to four thousand rubles.
The press services of the Moscow Department of Transport and the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow Region confirmed the transfer of materials about the violators.
MTDI, based on the materials transferred by Moscow, is now issuing fines and issuing orders to eliminate violations, the press service of the ministry said. Federal Law No. 69, which regulates the taxi market, provides for the suspension of permits in case of non-compliance with regulations. After that, MTDI has the right to apply to the court for the annulment of permits.
