The court upheld the arrest of those involved in the second Bakhchisarai case of Hizb ut-Tahrir

The Supreme Court of Crimea rejected the appeal and upheld the arrest of Seyran Saliyev, Memet Belyalov and Timur Ibragimov, who were detained on October 11 in Bakhchisarai, Krym . Realities". They are accused of participating in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, recognized as extremist in Russia.

Lawyer Edem Semedlyaev requested that the materials of the decision to extend the arrest be sent back to the Kyiv District Court. According to him, the decision was not translated into the Crimean Tatar language, although his client Timur Ibragimov used an interpreter in court. The court denied the request.

Earlier, the lawyer of one of the accused said falsification in the documents of the investigation.

• On October 11, searches were carried out in the homes of six Crimean Tatars. They were detained. The lawyer reported that the men were transported with bags over their heads. One of them is accused of organizing terrorist activities (Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), five of them are accused of participating in terrorist activities (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
• Hizb ut-Tahrir has been declared terrorist by the decision of the Supreme Court. However, a number of experts from human rights organizations, including the SOVA Center, believe that there are no grounds for this - members of Hizb ut-Tahrir were not seen to be involved in the commission or preparation of terrorist attacks.
