Liquid breathing involves filling the lung with liquid saturated with oxygen, which penetrates the blood. The first experiments on dogs began to be carried out in the 1940s. Since the 1980s, liquid breathing has been tested in public. Scientists managed to find out that the technology helps with lung injuries, but the liquid is too viscous and it will not work to breathe for a long time - carbon dioxide, which is excreted during breathing, will begin to accumulate in the blood.
