On December 22, the court in Kyiv will choose a measure of restraint as the ex-complicator of the head of the Protocol of the Government of Ukraine Stanislav Yezhov, who was detained in Kyiv by employees of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) on charges of treason and espionage in favor of Russia.
Yezhov, who was also a personal translator of Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, constantly accompanied the head of government on trips and attended his negotiations, including confidential ones. According to some reports, the Russian special services recruited Yezhov three years ago and since then received information from him almost in daily mode. In the development of the SBU, Yezhov has been in the spring of 2017. The Prime Minister of Ukraine about his summary was informed in early autumn.

Stanislav Yezhov is a non -public figure, little is known from official sources about him. He is a personnel diplomat. He worked at the Embassies of Ukraine in Slovenia and the USA. In 2015, he went to work in the Verkhovna Rada, specifically - to the apparatus of the speaker of the parliament: then this post was held by Vladimir Groysman. After Groysman was appointed prime minister in May 2016, Yezhov followed him to work in the office of the Cabinet of Ministers. The steep career trajectory suggests that he not only enjoyed the trust of Groysman, but also properly fulfilled his official duties.
“He was at one time to Groysman was recommended by people from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as one of the best synchronist translators, in any case, he had such a reputation,” a source in the Ukrainian government tells NT. According to the source, before the appointment of the Yezhov protocol, a double verification in the Department of Counterintelligence of the SBU was held.
Yezhov’s recruitment occurred during his work at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States a little more than three years ago, and in the field of view of the Ukrainian special services he fell only in the spring of 2017 - since then it was “led” by the SBU
Officially, the Ukrainian special service does not disclose the details of the case against Yezhov. According to the head of the Department of Counterintelligence of the SBU Andrei Petrov, he was recruited by Russian agents during a “long foreign trip”: “He worked like a real spy. He worked quite initiative. He transmitted the information, stole the documents and handed them to his Russian curators. ”
Unofficially, in private conversations, the SBU employees on strict anonymity tell the details: Yezhov’s recruitment occurred during his work at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States a little more than three years ago, and he fell into the field of view of Ukrainian special services in the spring of 2017 - since then it “led” the SBU.
According to the official declaration of Yezhov for 2016, since 1997, part of the apartment in Kyiv has been in its shared ownership. In total, the deputy head of the Prime Minister of Ukraine received 223,829 hryvnias ($ 8000) in the form of income in the year. Of these, 44,617 hryvnias ($ 1600) for work in the Verkhovna Rada apparatus (until June 2016) and almost 180 thousand ($ 6500) in the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Again, according to the official declaration, Yezhov has a wife Julia, a citizen of the Russian Federation, with deposits in Sberbank of Russia and a salary from the American company Numark Associates Inc., which specializes in environmental consulting. In total, Yezhov’s wife received in 2016 a salary (125,526 hryvnias - $ 4500) and percent of the deposit in Sberbank of Russia (6104 hryvnias - $ 220).
The family keeps savings not in hryvnias, but in US dollars and Russian rubles. Julia has two accounts in Sberbank of Russia: ruble - 286,641 rubles. ($ 4900) and dollar - more than $ 30 thousand. Ezhov himself has savings of $ 70 thousand and another $ 11 thousand, which he lent to third parties.
NT sources in the SBU claim that Yezhov in the post in the government apparatus had access to secret information, namely, to the directives, plans and instructions from the prime minister to persons who are engaged in foreign policy and foreign economic activity. In addition, at his disposal, most likely, information on the military, scientific and technical cooperation of Ukraine with foreign countries, as well as data on export-importing weapons, military and special equipment, strategic raw materials.
On January 16, 2017, Yezhov translated Groysman in negotiations with Joe Bayden, US Vice President in the Obama administration, in May-attended the personal meeting of Groysman with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Teresa May
On the other hand, the Ukrainian diplomats with whom the NT managed to talk with, doubted that Yezhov could possess some super-secret information. “The position was not so hot,” said one of the interlocutors.
Be that as it may, on January 16, 2017, Yezhov translated Groysman in debt with Joe Bayden, the US Vice President in the Obama administration, in May-attended the personal meeting of Groysman with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Teresa May, and in July translated the conversation of Ukraine as a special representative of the US Department of Ukraine on issues of Ukraine Kurt Volker.
The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the scandal, said that he knew about this situation only from the press and has no additional information.
