The UN Security Council tightened the sanctions against the DPRK in connection with the KIM mode of the missile and nuclear program. Information about this appeared on Friday on the United Nations.
The resolution, the project of which was introduced, was adopted unanimously.
"The resolution adopted today by 89 percent reduces the total volume of possible imports of gasoline, diesel fuel and other oil products into the country," said Nickei Haley, the United States Permanent Representative to the UN.
In accordance with the document from January 1, 2018, no more than 500 thousand barrels of oil products and no more than 4 million barrels (525 tons) of raw oil are allowed to supply to North Korea. It is also a ban on the sale of industrial equipment, vehicles, steel and other metals.
The same resolution prohibits export from the DPRK of food products and agricultural goods, a number of minerals, ore, electric goods and other equipment.
“The previous resolution ( adopted on September 11. - Ed.) Prohibits 90 percent of North Korea’s exports,” Haley pointed out. “This resolution imposes a ban on all the remaining categories of large North Korean exports - this will lead to the fact that the regime will lose almost 250 million dollars of income.”
In the current resolution, members of the Security Council also condemned the illegal export of coal from the DPRK and called on all states to stop it. Countries are allowed to stop, search and detain ships following from North Korea or into it.
Also, all states are prescribed in a two -year term from the date of adoption of the document to deport all North Korean workers to their homeland.
The UN sanctions list includes the Ministry of People's Armed Forces of the DPRK, as well as 16 new personalities. The assets of these persons around the world are frozen, and international trips are prohibited to defendants in the list.
On Wednesday, the media reported that the United States is developing a plan for a preventive strike on the DPRK to stop its nuclear missile program. As noted, in recent months, preparation for military decision has significantly intensified, "since diplomacy does not work."
Earlier, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson proposed the DPRK negotiations, while noting that in order to participate in such, she should express their readiness to coagate missile and nuclear tests. However, on December 19, North Korea stated that she was not interested in negotiations with the United States. “So far we will not get rid of fundamental problems like the hostile policy of the United States and the nuclear threat emanating from them, we will not bear the issues of nuclear and missile programs for negotiations,” the article “Our nuclear deterrence cannot be the subject of trading,” which was placed by the Nodon Sinmun labor party.
