"Welcome to Voronezh - the capital of the Soviet Black Earth Region!" - Such posters hung at the entrances to the glorious city of Voronezh during the USSR. There have been no these posters for a long time, the USSR collapsed, and Voronezh confidently stepped into a new era, leaving, however, on his streets a lot from the old, left life ... In Voronezh, modernity and antiquity, the 21st century and century XIX, the socialist past and the bourgeois present are so bizarre, that the tour of it becomes like a trip in a time machine ...

Voronezh today is a beautiful, modern, well -groomed city with trendy entertainment centers and ancient merchant mansions, fashion shops and theaters, restaurants and exhibition halls. In Voronezh, the third in Russia is erected in Russia and one of the highest Orthodox churches in the world - the Annunciation Cathedral. Its height is slightly less than 100 meters! And it is located between Engels Street, which called religion a bourgeois prejudice, and a prospectus of a revolution, the name of which was destroyed by the first Voronezh temple.

The oldest building of Voronezh is an arsenal built at the end of the 18th century. This is a beautiful two -story building, in which a very interesting museum of the Great Patriotic War is now located. For two centuries, the building of three meters went into the ground and looks one -story. And from all sides, brilliant, glass and concrete, residential buildings, which looks very unusual ...

Not far from Voronezh, in Ramoni, the castle of Princess of Oldenburg, in which, as it should be for every castle, lives, rises. Whose ghost is - the princess itself or the sorcerer, who, according to legend, was treated, it is unknown, but local residents can tell you a lot of terrible stories about shadows, rustles, sounds and people disappeared into the castle without a trace. And there is only one fact - during the war, the Germans bombed everything here indiscriminately, but not a single bomb fell on the castle. So the ghost saved many lives - people were hiding from bombing in his shelter ...

Tired of the old man? We get in the time machine and, looking at goodbye to the beautiful, also Peter time, the Admiralty Church, we return to our time and go to Lizyukov Street. Remember the cartoon about the kitten from this street? So this street really is in Voronezh and there is a touching monument to this kitten, created according to the sketch of the Voronezh schoolgirl. And not far away - the only monument to the dog, the heroine of the film and the book in the world. Yes, on the contrary of the Puppet Theater, the very famous setter named Bely Bim Black Ear is sitting ... The monument is unusual-it is made of steel, and the right ear and one of the paws for some reason made of bronze. Why? The answer, probably, knew a certain S.V. Savelyev, a commemorative board of which hangs on one of the houses along Karl Marx Street. The inscription on the board reads: “In this house from 2063 to 2065 S.V. Savelyev, inventor of the time machine, lived. " That's who could tell us where a street came from in Voronezh, named after a never existing person - Peter Sazonov Street ... or as a purely land city, standing on a not largest river, became the cradle of the Great Russian Fleet? Is it only because of the ship pines that Peter the Great liked so much that he ordered to create an Admiralty in Voronezh, on the shipyards of which about 215 vessels were built? Or the most important thing-why, after all, the white bima made of bronze has only one paw and ear?

And, saying goodbye to the unexpected, beautiful and not subject to Voronezh time, do not forget to dig up a slightly famous Voronezh blacksome, which is called a "black diamond." A month later, you will not recognize home plants on your windowsill, because it is not without reason that the cube of local fertile land was exposed in the Paris Chamber of measures and weights as a standard.
