The PR director of the KFC chiti Ilya Politkovsky reacted to the situation in the St. Petersburg cafe actively discussed on social networks. In the institution near the metro station “Civil Prospekt”, the visitor Alexander Shadov shared an egg with the homeless, but the cafe employee drove off the homeless and threw off his food.
In a conversation with the Fifth Channel, Politkovsky noted that the employees' request to leave the cafe - “Standard practice” to the homeless and, in this case, the KFC employee acted as “to avoid problems with the guests”.
- Persons often go to this restaurant without a specific place of residence. And for the sake of the safety of our guests, employees ask them to leave the restaurant. This is a standard practice, because our guests complain about them, that we allow them to the halls where they take food. [...]
Even if we understand that this is an employee’s mistake, it is important to understand that he did this out of good motives in order to avoid problems with our guests.
The restaurant network also stated that they were already conducting an investigation about the St. Petersburg case.
After Shadov published a post about what happened on Facebook, KFC representatives contacted him and apologized.
