According to the memoirs of the writer's son Renee Bell, “joint film production with the Soviet Union was under strict control: the KGB agent accompanied the shooting and followed each frame of the film. In the film “Documentary” about Leningrad, it is very different from what was shown in Soviet “Documentary” films at that time. In particular, in one of the episodes of the film, Joseph Brodsky starred, this was his first film interview.
