Ukraine will begin to collect fingerprints of Russians entering the country since the end of 2017

On the border of Ukraine with Russia from December 27, the system of monitoring biometric data will partially begin to operate. The system will be put into operation from January 1, 2018. This was announced on his Facebook page by adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Zoryan Shkiryak.

From December 27, the control system will begin to work "in places of probable illegal crossing of the border by offenders and smugglers." From January 1, Russians entering Ukraine will be obliged to take fingerprints and “the entire set of biometric data”, crossing the border.

In July, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced the introduction of biometric control for all foreigners entering the territory of the country. On August 30, Poroshenko signed a corresponding decree.

In July, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine also reported that from January 1, 2018, Ukraine will introduce mandatory preliminary registration for citizens of the Russian Federation, intending to enter the country.
