The Basmann District Court of Moscow extended for four months a house arrest to the director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater Sofya Apfelbaum in the so -called “Seventh Studio” case. The judge also refused to free the Apfelbaum on bail of one million rubles. It is reported by the Rain TV channel.
The investigation is suspected by the Apfelbaum of the sub -selection of documents, thanks to which the "Seventh Studio" received a state contract for 214 million rubles. The investigator claims that the guilt of Apfelbaum confirms the testimony of the former accountant of the Seventh Studio Nina Maslyaeva. Apfelbaum rejects the prosecution.

At a court session on Monday, the investigator also said that the criminal Maslyaeva will be allocated to separate proceedings until mid -April. Maslyaeva pleaded guilty, concluded a deal with the investigation and testified against other accused . The guilt allows the court to consider the case in a special order - without researching evidence.
In the case of the Seventh Studio, the artistic director of the Gogol Center Kirill Serebrennikov was placed under house arrest. He is accused of embezzlement of 68 million rubles allocated by the theater troupe. In this case, the former director of Gogol-Center Alexei Malobrodsky, who is the only one is in custody, and the ex-director of the Seventh Studio, Yuri Itin. All of them reject the accusations. Serebrennikov calls them "absurd." Russian and world cultural figures have repeatedly treated letters in support of the director and the requirement to free him.
