The constant representation of Kalmykia under the President demanded an apology from the TNT channel for the episode of the series "Street", which appears as a Buddhist figurine. This was reported by the agency "RIA Kalmykia".
"Young people (characters of the series. - Ed.) In the dialogue use the Buddhist statuette, to which the figurine of a naked woman is attached, while incorrect comparisons are allowed, crossing the facets of the permissible, desecrating the shrine. We believe that this scene defiles the feelings of believers, thereby violates the current Russian legislation," said the deputy permanent representative of the Republic of Baatars Lijiev. According to him, numerous appeals from the inhabitants of Kalmykia in connection with the release of the episode are received in the Permanent Representative.
"We ask the leadership of TNT to apologize to all believers and remove this episode from the series. Otherwise, we reserve the right to appeal to the judicial and law enforcement agencies," the letter of Lijiyev says to the leadership of the channel.
In December, the TNT channel had to apologize for the number in the Comedy Woman show, in which the Ingush girl from the escort agency appeared. Comedy Club Production CEO Andrei Levin personally arrived at the Permanent Representative of Ingushetia in Moscow. In addition, on the air of the TV channel they showed a video in which the participants in the popular programs of the TV channel apologized.
In July last year, the Elistinsky City Court of Kalmykia sentenced the Dagestan fighter Said Osmanov to two years conditionally with an annual probation for abuse of the Buddhist sanctuary. The total term of Osmanov was appointed by partial addition of punishments for each of the two imputed charges. Part 2 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code (insulting the feelings of believers in the places of worship), the defendant was given a year conditionally, in part 1 of Article 282 (excitement of national hatred or enmity) - a year and a half.
On the night of April 2, 2016, the 22-year-old Osmanov, who arrived in Elista to participate in the freestyle wrestling tournament, along with other members of the Dagestan team walked around the city, releasing unflattering remarks relative to the Buddhist religious architecture. Then the athlete went into one of the Buddhist sanctuaries, helped there and hit the statue of Buddha with his foot in the face . At the same time, he broadcast his actions into a personal channel on the PerisCope social network.
That same night, the locals, looking at the record, appeared to Osmanov in the hotel, pulled him out into the street and forced him to apologize for their act. The athlete was justified by the fact that he allegedly did not know that he was defiled by the monument. The police could not calm the crowd for some time. Then Osmanov was detained.
The fighting tournament was canceled, and the coach of the Dagestan team was dismissed. The Prime Minister of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov, who apologized for the athlete’s act, arrived in Elista urgently.
