Putin goes to the polls as an independent candidate. According to the law, in this case, the initiative group should nominate a candidate, it should include at least 500 people.
Putin's candidacy was previously supported by the parties "United Russia", as well as "Fair Russia", thus refusing to nominate a presidential candidate from their own party.
The initiative group for the nomination included senators and deputies, as well as artists and musicians, public figures.
