Data on the salaries of Russian ministers in 2016 published in December were deleted from the website of the Ministry of Finance. According to RBC, the information disappeared from access the day after publishing an article on this topic.

In the Ministry of Finance, they did not comment on data removal. According to RBC, the publication of the salaries of ministers caused discontent in departments. In one of the ministries, this was compared with the "sabotage".

Nevertheless, the information was preserved in the Google cache.

The data on the website of the Ministry of Finance provided the average monthly salaries of "employees replacing government posts", except for the security forces. The departments of this category include only the ministers themselves.

In 2016, the largest salary among ministers, 1.7 million rubles a month, was received by the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov. The Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin (1.3 million) and Minister of Energy Alexander Novak (1.2 million) were followed by him. This is about 11-13 times higher than the average salary of an employee of the department. The head of the Ministry of Construction Mikhail (443 thousand rubles a month) and the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev (451 thousand) were the least of all salaries.

Prior to this, data on the salary of ministers were not openly published.

In November 2016, RT channel, citing the government press service, said that from January 2019, Russian officials will raise a salary of 38 percent. It was noted that since 2014 the salary in the ministries has not been indexed. However, later in the government the television channel was denied.

According to Rosstat, the average monthly salary of federal officials for the first half of 2016 amounted to 99.9 thousand rubles a month. Thus, after indexation, it will increase to 140 thousand. More than other officials, according to the results of the first half of the year, employees of the Presidential Administration earned: they received an average of 208.6 thousand rubles a month. In second place is the government apparatus, there the average salary rate fell - by 6.7 percent, to 181.8 thousand rubles.
