Valery Chalidze died

Chalidze graduated from Tbilisi University with a degree in physics. Candidate of Sciences. He worked as the head of the Research Institute in Tbilisi. The author of several monographs in mathematics and mathematical physics.

Since 1969, Chalidze has been the editor of the Self -Izazdatov magazine "Public Problems".

In 1970, Chalidze, together with Andrei Sakharov and Andrei Tverdokhlebov, founded the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights.

In 1972, Chalidze went by invitation to the United States to give lectures and was deprived of Soviet citizenship. He lived in Vermont.

In the United States, Chalidze Publications founded. He published materials from the archive of Leo Trotsky, issued four volumes of documents "Communist opposition in the USSR, 1923-1927". In addition, Chalidze published the memoirs of Nikita Khrushchev and other books.

Chalidze is the author of research "Human Rights and the Soviet Union" (1974), "Criminal Russia" (1978), "Winner of Communism: Thoughts about Stalin, Socialism and Russia" (1981).
