The head of the Grozny branch of Memorial, Oyub Titiev, was detained in Chechnya. A criminal case has been filed against him for possession of drugs. Previously, Memorial employees in the republic were repeatedly threatened, and their office was attacked.

Film about a veteran of the Chechen war

Journalist Yuri Dud found the soldier whom Yuri Shevchuk was filming for his report from the Chechen war. His name is Oleg Sitnikov, he lives in Kaliningrad in a veterans' house, where apartments are provided to residents for temporary use. In an interview, Sitnikov said that he drives a car made in 1983 and is going to save up for a better car—one made in 1991. Under Dudya’s film , dozens of comments appeared on YouTube with offers to raise money for him. A few hours later, Dud posted a photo of Sitnikov with a new car - and invited viewers to help other veterans.

Yuri Sitnikov is one of the heroes of the report filmed by Shevchuk in Chechnya in 1995. In this recording, federal soldiers give their names and their hometowns. Shevchuk said that almost all of them soon died.
