The Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk fined Sergei Gorkunov, a volunteer of Alexei Navalny's campaign headquarters, 20,000 rubles for painting the architraves on the facade of the headquarters. This was reported in the Navalny Team | Irkutsk group on VKontakte.
The court found the volunteer guilty of violating Art. 7.14 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (carrying out repair work without the permission of a special authority).
As . Current Time notes, at the meeting, the lawyer of the local headquarters, Stepan Bobrov, drew the court's attention to flaws in the protocol and the lack of direct evidence of Gorkunov's participation in painting the facade - there are neither witnesses nor a video recording of what happened
In December 2017, the same court considered a similar case of another campaign volunteer, Pavel Chernukhin, and also fined him 20,000 rubles.
Claims from law enforcement officers appeared after the subbotnik, which Navalny's supporters held in September. Then the volunteers installed heating, washed the windows and painted the architraves in the headquarters, which is located in the building of the wooden estate of 1830.
A few months later, the Kirovsky District Court issued a decision to demolish an extension to the building, which houses a bathroom. According to this document, the appearance of the historical building of the XIX century does not provide for additional extensions.
