Titiev’s friend reportedly said that he was supposed to meet him in the village of Mayrtup, Kurchaloevsky district, and go to Grozny. After a long wait, he went to look for his friend.

At the bridge over the Khumyk River, a man saw a traffic police officer inspecting a friend’s car - the hood and trunk were open, the spare tire was lying on the ground. Titiev himself stood nearby. There were other service officers and a special purpose vehicle nearby. When Titiev saw that his friend was coming towards him, he gave a sign for him to drive past.

After it became known that both cars had driven into Kurchaloy, Titiev’s comrade went to the Kurchaloy district police department. They didn't let him inside. In the yard, the man found a car that matched Titiev’s car in color and make. Later, a mutual friend of theirs confirmed that it was his car.

A lawyer came to the same police department, but the officer on duty also did not let him into the premises and stated that they did not have Titiev.

The message also notes that Titiev’s phone has been on since morning, but no one is answering the phone.

The Chairman of the Russian Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, Mikhail Fedotov, contacted employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chechnya. They said this was the first time they had heard about this case.

According to “Caucasus. Realities”, Oyub Titiev is in the Kurchaloevsky district police department. Memorial employees learned about this from a member of the Human Rights Council under the head of Chechnya, Kheda Saratova, who, at the request of Mikhail Fedotov, contacted this police department.
