When politics is killed opposite the Kremlin, we can pretend that nothing special happened. The performers were found and punished, although the motives of the crime and customers remained in the shade, and the place of murder is regularly cleaned from the improvised folk memorial. From the house where Nemtsov lived, a commemorative plate was torn over and over again - it was installed, they say, illegally.
In the State Duma in 2016 they refused to honor the silence of the murdered former parliamentarian Nemtsov. The deputies thereby refuse humanity, not to mention etiquette and such things unknown to them as professional solidarity. It is clear that these things for Russian elites are replaced by a political conjuncture, in the framework of which everyone is divided into their own and strangers, and “strangers” do not deserve to come to their funeral, even if yesterday you greet them by the hand in the government.

Supporters of Boris Nemtsov many times turned to the authorities with a request to name him by the name of the bridge on which he was killed, or one of the streets, but each time received a refusal. Say, the procedure is not observed, the time has passed too little time and not supposed to. But, of course, such obstacles do not arise when it comes to the Moscow streets of Akhmat Kadyrov or Hugo Chavez-these were their own.
When the native country and the legitimate power seemed to demonstrate such an attitude towards killed citizens and statesmen, justice can be achieved abroad. Ordinary citizens are already familiar, faced with a Russian court, go to look for the truth in the ECHR. The personal sanctions of the Western countries, which began with the “Magnitsky List”, are the only way to achieve justice in the Russian Federation. The recent news of the mass receipt of the wealthy inhabitants of Russia, including those close to the authorities, Malta’s citizenship goes here. The old story that Russian large business prefers to resolve its conflicts in the London court - too. In Russia, the regime of extraterritorial justice is established - in order to find the latter, you need to leave your native jurisdiction.
And here is another item on this shameful general list: in Moscow there are no names related to Boris Nemtsov, but in Washington there is now such a name.
The City Council of the American capital unanimously approved the appearance of the second, ceremonial, the name of the square on Wisconsin Avenue, where the Russian embassy is located. On the anniversary of the murder of Nemtsov, February 27, four memorial signs with a new address - the area of Boris Nemtsov will be installed on the square. The initiator of this idea last year was Senator Marco Rubio. It is noted that the old postal address will be preserved as the official one, and the embassy will be able to use both addresses at its discretion. There is no particular doubt that our diplomats will prefer to stay on Wisconsin Avenue, and they will try to forget about the signs as soon as possible.
State Duma deputies, who failed to rise for a moment of silence, did not pass by this event and denounced the American authorities as best they could. The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky called the renaming of the square in honor of Nemtsov "rude and tough, made in peak to us." Slutsky also noted that the Americans "are trying to crush us literally in everything, to dismantle the image of Russia in their information and political space." The thesis, of course, is strange: how can you dismantle the image with a memory of Russian politics? But the first deputy chairman of the same committee Dmitry Novikov went further and clarified that the actions of the city authorities of Washington are interference in the internal affairs of Russia. Where under the affairs, obviously, this refers to the right to forget the murdered statesmen.
Most of all, as usual, the LDPR faction and the young politician Mikhail Degtyarev distinguished themselves, who, as an asymmetric campaign, suggested name the nameless lane at the American embassy in Moscow by the North American impasse, and the embassy itself is placed at this address in house 1. The funny joke and the reason are successful, right?
