
Businessman Oleg Deripaska Surf Horizon Ltd. She filed a lawsuit against the ex-head of the U.S. President Donald Trump, Paul Manafort. The co -defendant is his assistant Rick Gates, Interfax reports.
“The lawsuit to recover losses and a fine was filed in relation to investments made by SURF in the group of Ukrainian companies Black Sea Cable. This investment was carried out by SURF after Manafort and Gates were convinced of its expediency, and also made a promise to control its performance. The investment transaction ended in failure, while more than $ 26 million were lost without a trace, ”said a representative of the Russian businessman.
According to the company, Manafort did not control the investment transaction, and also secretly removed the profit from it.
The statement of claim says that Surf invested $ 18.9 million in Ukrainian companies. For this money, the Russian businessman was going to buy Black Sea Cable through the Cyprus company Manafort Pem Advisors Ltd. in 2008. Manafort allegedly appropriated part of this money.

According to the agency, the ex-head of the headquarters of Trump worked for a businessman in the interests of Russian President Vladimir Putin and developed a plan to “undermine” the anti-Russian opposition on the territory of the former USSR.
