The defendants in the case of the rebellion in the Mozhaisk educational colony in February 2016 are beaten in jail, demanding that they give a confession. This was stated by human rights activist Zoya Svetova, reports Echo of Moscow.

The night before, the relatives of one of the accused in the riot called human rights activists. “They reported that four accused in this case, Vladimir Dalevich, Maxim Ershov, Oleg Beendryasov, Alexander Doroshkin, unexpectedly removed Zelenograd from the pre -trial detention center, where they were already kept and delivered to the Sizo of Volokolamsk,” said Svetova.

“They are now contained in the“ strict ”corps of the SIZO of Volokolamsk, they are beaten, they are demanding that they admit the guilt of the crime, the so -called“ mass riots ”in the Mozhaisk colony,” the human rights activist said. “In this case, it will be a matter of“ organizing mass riots, ”but with a plead of guilt, and the employees of the Mozhaisk colony will no longer be guilty.”

On January 17, a court in this case will begin in the Moscow Regional Court. "This is a completely unprecedented court, where 10 accused are convicted former youngsters. Now these guys are over 18 years old, and they are facing up to 10 years in prison," Svetova said.

On February 21, 2016, after dinner, 57 out of 65 pupils of the Mozhaisk educational colony were barricaded in the residential building. Teenagers demanded "to give publicity the existing numerous facts of beatings, humiliations and bullying by employees of the institution." The pupils said that the jailers beat them for the slightest offense, for example, for unacceptable poems or an unsuccessful button, and threatened their heads to wave their heads in the toilet.

The pupils themselves stopped the protest, but three days later the teenagers again refused to obey the colony staff and did not go to class. Special forces of the FSIN was introduced into the colony. However, the conflict was resolved peacefully.

A criminal case was opened under part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code (mass riots). In April 2016, the Moscow prosecutor's office for the supervision of compliance with laws in correctional institutions conducted an audit and revealed in the actions of the colony employees the excess of official powers (part 1 of Article 286). 18 colony officers were brought to "strict disciplinary liability."
