The current president of the Czech Republic Zeman leads after the first round of elections

The current president of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman could not win the elections in the first round, ascertained the Czech status (ChSU). According to the results of the first round of presidential elections, he gains a little less than 40% of the vote.

“The second place is occupied by the ex -chairman of the Academy of Sciences Yirzhi Dragosh, he has 25.5% of the vote. The remaining seven applicants for the post of head of state gained from 0.5% to 9.6% of the vote,” RIA Novosti quoted the message of the honor.

According to the Chess, Zeman in the elections was preferred mainly by residents of villages and small cities. The inhabitants of large cities, including Prague, mainly voted for Dragosh.

The presidential election took place in the republic during Friday and Saturdays, about 60% of registered voters who had the opportunity to vote for one of nine candidates took part in them.

The second round will be held in two weeks.

On the eve of the vote, it was assumed that the leaders of the right -wing parties and some of the presidential candidates intend to call their supporters to vote for Dragos. He supports the Euro -Atlantic orientation of the country's foreign policy, advocates preserving anti -Russian sanctions and distances from excessive racing with China.

Zeman sees in cooperation with Russia and China a great economic potential for his country, considers the issue of Crimea virtually resolved and absolutely opposes the reception of refugees from Muslim countries.
