The lawyer said that the relatives of Oyub Titiev, against whom “there were attempts by unscrupulous law enforcement officers,” are now in a “safe place.” “Any provocations from the Chechen police are impossible in their regard,” says Pyotr Zaikin.

On January 10, police kicked Titiev’s relatives out of their house. They were looking for his son and brother and threatened the human rights activist's relatives with trouble.
