At the end of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, Russia will take measures against persons involved in the removal of its national team from participation in competitions. This was reported by news with reference to the chairman of the Commission of the Council for the Protection of State Sovereignty and the prevention of interference in the internal affairs of Andrei Klimov and two more unnamed sources in the Federal Assembly.
Such a decision, Klimov explained, was adopted at the Olympic meeting on December 12, 2017. The senator explained the decision to postpone the adoption of measures for a while at the end of the games by the fact that "there is no need to rush." “Now the most important thing is that our athletes can adequately perform,” he remarked.
It is assumed both the introduction of visa sanctions and the opening of criminal cases. Measures are supposed to be taken against nearly a dozen people, including, as the sources of Izvestia especially noted, there are US citizens and British subjects.
It is not only about officials of the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA). In particular, Klimov noted, his colleague according to the Council, Sergei Ozerov, finds out whether Robert Müller Robert Muller was involved in the removal of the Russian FBI team and the special prosecutor to investigate the Moscow presidential campaign.
The decision to remove the Russian team from participating in the Olympics was made on December 5 by the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee. At the same time, Russian athletes were allowed to perform at the games in personal quality - under the neutral Olympic flag.
Only those Russians who were not previously disqualified for doping or are convicted of violation of anti -doping rules are allowed for competitions. Another condition for the admission is the passage of tests appointed by the special IOC commission.
The Olympic Committee of Russia was removed from participation in the preparation of games. The membership of the President of the OKR Alexander Zhukov in the IOC is suspended. All functionaries of the Ministry of Sports of Russia were denied accreditation for the upcoming Olympics, and for Zhukov, as well as the former head of the Ministry of Sports, the current deputy prime minister Vitaly Mutko and the former deputy head of the Ministry of Sports of Yuri Nagorny, a lifetime ban on accreditation was introduced.
Also, $ 15 million for the creation of the International Anti -Doping Committee was recovered from the ROD.
On December 6, Vladimir Putin assured that the Russian authorities will not impede athletes who will decide to participate in the Olympics under a neutral flag. The Olympic Assembly on the 12th agreed to such a form of participation in the games.
Meanwhile, on December 14, it became known that WADA informed sports federations about 300 more Russian athletes whose doping tests in 2012-2015 could be replaced. In relation to these athletes, investigations will also be conducted.
