The TFR completed the investigation in the case of the Seventh Studio. This was reported by the Moscow Agency with reference to Irina Proforinov, a lawyer of one of the defendants - director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater, formerly the head of the Department of the Ministry of Culture of Sofia Apfelbaum.
Now the four accused - in addition to the Apfelbaum, is the director, the former art of the Seventh Studio, Kirill Serebrennikov, its ex -director Yuri Itin and former general producer Alexei Malobrodsky - begin to familiarize themselves with the case file. Then it will go to the prosecutor’s office, and then, if the supervisory authority approves the indictment, to the court.
As Interfax clarifies - also with reference to the Untrianov, - in the final version of the prosecution, the amount of damage from thefts imputed by the defendants increased almost doubles - from 68 to 133 million rubles. The rest of the plot of the case remained unchanged.
Earlier on Monday, the Bell wrote about the end of the investigation in the case, referring to two unnamed sources close to the TFR. As stated in the publication, the investigation ended on January 12th. “It ended completely unexpectedly,” said one of the interlocutors of the publication.
At the same time, the Moscow reports , the investigation was completed in two cases, allocated from the main case of the Seventh Studio in separate proceedings. In one of the affairs, the former chief accountant of the organization Nina Maslyaeva is held. She is the only person who pleaded guilty and concluded a deal with the prosecutor’s office, within the framework of which she testified against former colleagues. She will be judged in a special order.
In the second case, the successor of Less Brodsky of the position of the General Producer of the Seventh Studio, Ekaterina Voronova, who disappeared abroad. Typically, the investigation of the affairs of people on the wanted list is suspended, but the investigation against Voronova was not suspended. As we might assume, the trial of it will also be in absentia; Part 5 of Article 247 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (the participation of the defendant) allows for an absentee process on charges, an incriminated emigrant.
Both Voronova and all other defendants were imputed part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale), which provides for up to 10 years in the colony. The volume of the case exceeds 100 volumes. According to the Investigative Department, in 2011-2014, the Ministry of Culture allocated to Serebrennikov over 214 million rubles for the implementation of the Platform project, the goals of which were the development and popularization of modern art. For the embodiment of the project and formed the Seventh Studio.
However, the TFR says, Serebrennikov gave other defendants an indication of overstating data on the quantity and cost of events. It is also claimed that the director instructed to ensure the conclusion of the Seventh Studio with firms and private entrepreneurs controlled by him, including one-day companies, and fictitious agreements for the implementation of the Platform project. The funds transferred under these agreements were allegedly cashed and distributed by Serebrennikov between the defendants.
Malobrodsky was imprisoned in jail; Serebrennikov, Itin and Apfelbaum are placed under house arrest. In October, Maslyaeva was transferred to house arrest from the pre -trial detention center after she testified against other defendants in the case.
