In the Moscow School of Self -Definition No. 734 named after A. N. Tubelsky has risen a conflict between the new director and all the others - teachers, senior schoolchildren and parents. On January 11, they held a rally at which they demanded the resignation of director Sergei Moskalenkov. He is accused of destroying the traditions of the school

The devil is in the little things

Sergei Moskalenkov came to school in May 2017. According to their parents, they struggled to build a constructive dialogue with the new administration: they held seminars, meetings, talked about the school’s way and traditions. The director, in turn, claims that he did everything in order to find a common language with those who worked at school long before his arrival, - convening a meeting in which was ready to discuss a course of further development of the school.

All aspects of the conflict indicate that the constructive dialogue did not happen. Parents - however, who have already managed to divide into more and less radical camps - claim that the director destroys the long -term democratic foundations of the school. And during the New Year holidays, they dismantled the sports complex, which was considered the pride of the school and the favorite vacation spot of students. Parents learned about this only after the holidays. The director, however, claims that all his steps are due to concern for the safety of students.

Many parents agreed to tell about what innovations with the new director to the school of self -determination. So, Maria Batova says that most parents immediately reacted to Moskalenkova with distrust, since at all meetings he did not answer directly to the questions of his parents, left the answer, and then made decisions without the knowledge and consent of his parents and teachers. “He began with trifles, for example, removed a coffee machine from the teacher's coffee machine - safety. Then the prohibitions began, ”says Maria. High school students were forbidden until the end of the lessons to leave the school building. “That is, even during the change: it is impossible to get out with air. Go home for something is impossible. You can’t go to the nearest store or have a bite. And this despite the fact that high school children are late at school until late, until seven in the evening. And from three o’clock the dining room, for example, is closed, ”the parent is indignant.

Additional classes and circles at the school with the advent of the new director became paid. From the kindergarten at the school, without explanation, they threw out soft structures for the daily circus holiday. There were sports simulators in the basement, which also disappeared overnight. The scenery for performances, also stored in the basement, was thrown away. The director explained this by the fact that it is unsafe to keep such things at school.

Complex of the confrontation

The next stumbling block was the library that the director wants to remove, because according to the school plan, the place reserved for the library is “not there”. "It has been there all my life, but now not there!" - Parents are indignant. And the last straw for everyone was the dismantling of a sports complex, built according to the Reutsky methodology. Parents claim that it is absolutely safe, which can be concluded from the experience of many years. “You can hit or fall without any complex. But it is our complex-not a banal Swedish wall, but a developing 3D complex, built, by the way, with the money of parents-suddenly began to interfere. My son cried when he found out that there was no more complex. I do not forgive my son's tears, ”says Maria Batova.

According to the parents, the sports complex, which served as a catalyst for an active confrontation, rally and strike, cost parents about 300 thousand rubles. Everyone came out unanimously for his preservation. What did not prevent the director from dismantling him during the New Year holidays. Then the parents decided to arrange a one -day strike. On January 11, the children did not go to study at school - instead of them, more than 200 angry parents came to the school, who demanded to reckon with their opinion and return the complex to the place. The director’s reaction was not long in coming. On the day of the strike at the school, school video cameras and an electronic pass system were turned off. The public director made a statement that no strikes were noticed, and many children simply had not yet returned from the holidays. Parents are sure that these measures were taken so that the Department of Education did not find out about the unrest at the school.

Carolina Soloed, not only one of the parents, but also the secretary of the managing council of the school - told TD that the conflict of the school of self -determination with the director Moskalenkov than just a dispute about the sports complex.

“For the past ten years, we lived a little away from the pillar road in the development of the modern educational process, as the Department understands it. From all this imitation of violent activity, which the Department loves so much, the previous director fenced us all this time. And this story is about the fact that the period of stagnation has ended and a very stormy period of violent adaptation to those morons that the Department introduced all these ten years has begun. And we need to comprehend not only to do now, but where we were these ten years, ”Caroline begins his explanation.

According to her, it is felt that the new director is not familiar with the values of pedagogy A. N. Tubelsky: “On the one hand, on the one hand, the conflict is the barracks style, and on the other, the pedagogy of Tubesky, which, like all great pedagogy, was built around the child. There are completely different values: the feelings of the child, the attitude to him, the relationship between the child and the adult. Many ethical, moral issues related to democratic values. And now parents are fighting not only and not so much for financially visible things as the same complex. This is not about the complex and for some reason a discarded inventory, which since the time of Tubensky has accumulated and has been roads. This is in its pure form the conflict of Lopakhin and Ranevskaya - when not just things, but symbols are sent to the garbage dump. ”

Kristina Kotelnikova, graduate of school No. 734, agreed to tell about the ideas that are brought up at the school of self -determination: “The school gives freedom of thought, no matter how highly it sounds. Teachers with students in a good sense on an equal footing: if the student has some problem, he may, without fear, come to his beloved teacher for advice. All issues were resolved humanly, and we were taught to defend our own opinion. There was a wonderful council of the school, which included teachers, students and graduates - and everything was discussed primarily in favor of students. And not just adults gathered and decided for children how better. ”

Christina claims that in her memory the first time in the history of the school there was a similar conflict: “I still communicate with graduates who are actively involved in the life of the school, everyone says what is in our school for the first time. Even if before there were any disputes and problems, they were solved collegially, it was very important for everyone to come to a common opinion. And here is the feeling that the person (director. - approx. TD ) did not understand which school he came to. "

According to Carolina Soloed, now the school is about the fact that it is necessary to save not only material values, but also ideas too. Otherwise, the pedagogy of Tubelsky "risks being forgotten, but it does not deserve it at all." “When we went to the rally, we did not know how it would end. According to the responses of the parents of other schools to the events at the school of A. N. Tubelsky, it is clear that the problem of school unification affected many. So, parents of other schools ask for support and ask how they can adopt the experience of school No. 734 to defend their parental rights.

It should be noted that most of the above problems have not yet affected the educational process in the lessons. Veronika Nikolaevna Denisova, an elementary school teacher, told how the teacher see this conflict: “So far, I can’t say that this pressure has been very felt in the classroom in the classroom, behind the closed doors and in our work, in any case in elementary school. The pedagogy of Tubelsky "risks being forgotten, but it does not deserve it at all"

At the end of the last school year, Moskalenkov solemnly assured teachers and parents that he was ready to maintain the principles and traditions of the school. In the summer, he himself organized a strategic session to discuss the future school, a group of volunteers from among teachers and parents, together with the administration, gathered all summer to work on the school development program following this session.

“But even at these meetings it has already become clear that we understand the meaning of many concepts in education in completely different ways, our values diverge strongly,” continues Veronika Nikolaevna. - Since September, this work has not been carried out at all. Now teachers are annoying disagreements not only in fundamental issues (that there is education, self-determination, how democracy can exist in the adult-child community, and so on), but also in life, everydays, there is a distrust of us and our experience, who have been working for many years, to the fact that we have already tried a lot in this school. ”

Teachers also complain of formalism and paperwork, which, according to the administration, should organize order and establish the functioning of the processes, but in fact “takes the strength and time from the teachers, so necessary for creative work with children, neurotics them.”

“We are just used to - both Alexander Naumovich, and after him - one way or another to the collegial management: the director was natural to discuss issues on equal terms with us, we could criticize the director, he could criticize us. Now we are always waiting for some more decision to be made without discussion, behind our back, and this will negatively, from our point of view, will affect working with children. We always wanted an educational process and our lessons are to saturate with something, to invent new creative forms of work. And we were ready for difficulties, an informal educational process was always important to us and its result associated with the development of the child’s personality, we never looked for easy ways, were ready to complicate his life, despite the fact that this would not work on an external rating-which is also a great discrepancy with the position of the new director. Probably, a fundamental disagreement can be formulated as follows: we have been engaged in the school for many years to search for a new one that meets our ideas about the meaning and goals of education, and now they are trying to drive us into the framework of a recognized, prescribed and approved from above, ”Denisova emphasized.

Unilateral communication

“We, teachers, is a rather heterogeneous company,” the teacher says. - Everyone has their own opinion, and the parents have already divided into more or less radical. Parents, being outside, may suspect us of some inertness compared to them, but I do not think that this is so. Just our goal is to maintain the opportunity to continue working with children. And we are really afraid that we can deprive us of the opportunity to work in the way we are required by the tradition of our school and our common values, so we are somewhat careful and try to think about the consequences. But we definitely do not want to sit, be silent, afraid and do nothing. Moreover, now the name of Alexander Naumovich Tubelsky is written on the sign, I would still like to comply with the principles, and not just go under this inscription. ”

The school director Sergei Moskalenkov does not agree with the charges against him. Moreover, he accuses of the undemocraticity of his colleagues and parents of school students: “This is not a dialogue in fact, when one side only requires. This is some kind of one-sided communication. ” However, the director admits that his decision to dismantle the complex can also be called unilateral communication, but believes that in his case it is justified: “When you see a child’s injury with your own eyes, to consult how to provide first aid is a hasty fact. I do not turn a blind eye to the opinion of my parents, but the decision should be urgent. Security issues should not be worked out from the point of view or not to be. For me, the question is “not”.

With what haste was the sports complex was removed, Moskalenkov explains by the fact that it would not be dangerous to do it during the vacation. The question was also urgent. The director does not agree with the claims of the parents about the funds spent on the complex: “The money was spent on a charity basis, yes. But that's not the point! The equipment was transferred to the use of the school, which means that the school is also made by the school, the school, the point, ”Moskalenkov explained.

However, the director hopes for a quick and prosperous resolution of the conflict: “I think this is a working issue at the construction of the educational process with the advent of a new team, which, of course, will be updated. But we can handle it, everything is fine. ” Not all aspects of the conflict are just as rosy.
