Orozbaev was detained by the FSB on December 28, 2016 and sent to a pre-trial detention center. The case was received in December last year. No preliminary hearings were held; The beginning of the proceedings on the merits was transferred three times.

The lawyer of the defendant Adam Abubakarov called the indictment "a set of words about nothing." In particular, he pointed out, Orozbaev adheres to traditional rather than radical Islam. At the beginning of the hearing, the judges refused Abubakarov in the withdrawal of her lawyer on the appointment of Marina Lovenets.
