Belarus legalizes cryptocurrency since March 28

The decree "On the development of the digital economy" allows cryptocurrency operations to business entities, which have become residents of the high technology park.

The decree "On the development of the digital economy", signed by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, will enter into force on March 28. This was reported by the PVT press service. The document officially allows you to buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrency, conduct activities as a crypto platform or operator operator and work in other directions in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.

According to the decree, only business entities can carry out operations with cryptocurrency, which, in the manner prescribed by the decree, became residents of the PVT.

Representatives of the PVT emphasize that until March 28, 2018, any activity related to cryptocurrency cannot be carried out by either legal entities or individuals. On the site of the high technology park, you can also get advice on registering the company as a resident.

“Almost all types of activities related to cryptocurrencies are allowed, and even with huge tax benefits,” writes Alexander Mashkov, co -founder of the Ukrainian Lawyer Bureau of GB Partners and, in particular, PVT. - The content of the decree is really impressive:

- through residents of the high technology park, it is allowed to create and place their own tokens,

- Store tokens in your own cryptocurrency wallets,

- through the operators of crypto platforms, cryptocurrency exchange operators to purchase and alienate tokens,

- Mining,

- the activities of individuals in mining and the acquisition and alienation of tokens are not entrepreneurial, tokens are not subject to declaration,

- The activities of crypto exchange platforms are allowed,

“Until 2023, all kinds of tax benefits for all this activity.”

Also, to introduce a digital economy in the activities of Belarusian banks, the Banking Association of Central and Eastern Europe will hold a series of seminars for employees of the financial sector.

The decree on the development of a digital economy pays considerable attention to the development of cryptocurrency payments and blockchain technologies. Within three months after its adoption, the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus should develop a regulatory framework for additional regulation of the industry.
