A volunteer from Navalny’s headquarters was summoned for a conversation because of leaflets sent to Murmansk

In St. Petersburg, a volunteer from the local campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Dmitry Gorokhov, received a call from a policeman who introduced himself as Alexei Evgenievich Venkov. He wanted to meet and talk about the leaflets sent to Murmansk, Gorokhov told OVD-Info.

First, the police officer called Gorokhov's registration address, where the volunteer's father lives. After that, he called the activist's mobile phone, asked where he was now, and specified the location. The policeman said that he wanted to talk to Gorokhov “about sending something that didn’t reach there and got a little spoiled.”

To this, the volunteer replied that he would only talk to the law enforcement officer after the summons had been served.

Gorokhov specified that the day before he sent leaflets to Murmansk, which, as it turned out, were confiscated at the airport on January 17. Local coordinator Violetta Grudina told OVD-Info that transport police officers came to the headquarters and reported this.

They stated that the parcel with leaflets for the action on January 28 was confiscated due to the fact that the integrity of the cargo was allegedly violated, and an inspection will be carried out in this regard. After that, the police detained the coordinator.
