Poet Alexander Byvshev, who is being tried for his poetry, has been charged with obstruction of justice and investigation (Article 294 of the Criminal Code) for communicating with journalists and publishing details from the courtroom. Byvshev reported this on January 18 to OVD-Info.
At the court session, the prosecutor made a motion to place Byvshev in custody. Now the author of the poems is under house arrest. The prosecutor explained his request by the fact that, being at large and having access to the Internet, the man “will continue to engage in his criminal activities and interfere with the investigation.”
In addition, according to the poet, the prosecutor demanded that the hearings be held behind closed doors. That is, not to let the press and television media in, since acting FSB officers and full-time "secret" intelligence officers are being interrogated in the case. Closed meetings, according to the prosecution, will contribute to the non-disclosure of state secrets.
“As my lawyer told me with complete confidence, yesterday’s new criminal case against me was opened only to give the Chekists a reason to seize all office equipment (computer and electronic media) during the upcoming search and thereby completely shut my mouth for the entire presidential term. campaigns,” says Byvshev.

This is the third criminal case against Alexander Byvshev. Two others were also started because of the publication of his pro-Ukrainian poems.
