Judge of the Central District Court of Sochi Ruslan Taigibov arrested the chief editor of the Blogsochi site Alexander Valov for two months - until March 19 - in the case of extortion. It is reported by the "Caucasian Knot".
The list of materials of the case Taigibov announced without reading the materials themselves.
Both lawyers of the journalist called the accusation absurd and unproven. Valov himself previously stated that his persecution was politically motivated.
At the beginning of the hearing, Valov stated a challenge to Taigibov, explaining that the Blogschi had previously placed a critical publication about the judge. Taigibov assured that he did not read the article, and suggested clarifying exactly what accusations were contained in it.
"Maybe you read this material? How do we know?" - the judge objected the activist "Yabloko" Alexei Chelmakin. After that, Taigibov removed the opposition from the courtroom, accusing him of violating the order.
The judge refused to take the challenge.
Further at the meeting, Valov said that he was beaten during the search. After that, the investigator assured that upon the statement of the journalist about the beating, an audit was already scheduled.
Valov was detained after the search on the evening of January 19. He was imputed by paragraph "G" of part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code (extortion on a large scale; up to seven years of colony). On Saturday evening, the lawyer of the journalist Alexander Popkov reported on his FB page, the detainee was charged.
According to the plot of the case, Valov in the summer of 2016 demanded from the State Duma deputy from the LDPR Yuri Napso 300 thousand rubles for removing the Blogsochi articles on the pool on the beach.
The security forces who appeared on Friday to Valov to conduct a search, introduced themselves to the operatives of the FSB. The journalist refused to open the door, and the visitors drank the castle; They turned off the light in the apartment. While the door was cut out, Valov led the live broadcast of what was happening on his YouTube channel. When the security forces burst, they knocked out a smartphone from the hands of a journalist. The record ended that Valov demanded not to plug his mouth and shouted that he was very much beaten.
