The Proletarsky District Court in Rostov-on-Don ruled on administrative cases of employees of Alexei Navalny's headquarters. They were charged with repeated violation of the procedure for holding a rally (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for participating in a meeting of voters in support of the politician's self-nomination. This was reported on the page of the local policy team on VKontakte.
Headquarters coordinator Anastasia Deineka was arrested for eight days, Vladimir Kobzev - for ten days. The journalist and staff member Timofey Martynenko was fined 250 thousand rubles, Leonid Sankin was fined 75 thousand rubles.
The court decided that the meeting of a group of voters in support of the self-nomination of Alexei Navalny, which took place on December 24, 2017, was an uncoordinated rally.
“The blatant incompetence of the judge is also striking: he claimed that Navalny had already been denied the nomination on December 24, and nevertheless we held the meeting anyway,” they write on the team’s page.
The court session on the administrative case of Volodymyr Ivakhnenko's headquarters volunteer was also supposed to take place today, but it was rescheduled.
