Investors closed the Russiangate website, on which the day before an article was published on the undeclared real estate of the director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and his deputy Sergei Smirnov. This was reported by "Echo of Moscow" with reference to the fired chief editor of the publication Alexandrina Elagin.

The journalist noted that she, like the editor -in -chief, had an agreement with investors, according to which articles about Vladimir Putin, his immediate environment, as well as about the Russian Orthodox Church should not publish.

At the same time, Elagina suggested that, as a violation of this agreement, the release of a non -investigation about Bortnikov, but the December interview about the Panama Dossier, was regarded. In December last year, only one publication based on the materials of Panama Documents was published on Russiangate. This is not an interview, but a translation of an article by the International Consortium of Journalistic Investigations (ICIJ), however, this text among others tells about the billionaires of Arcadia and Boris Rotenbergs, which are just part of Putin's closest environment.

Due to the publication of this article, according to unconfirmed reports, the case of extremism was opened, the journalist also said. “There were no complaints against me - neither documentary nor verbal ones,” she remarked. “But not only lawyers, but also my sources are indicated.”

An article about the dachas of Bortnikov and Smirnov in Sestroretsk appeared on Russianangate on Tuesday evening. A few hours later the site was blocked, and the publication was removed from it . As it turned out, the text was removed from the site by the technical service by decision of investors; Elagina was not notified of this.
