I must confess, the very idea that the Franco-British comedy "Death of Stalin" will be released on the screens of Russian cinemas, caused me a dumb. It was simply impossible to imagine this picture: the director Armando Iannucci, with the money of NATO producers, takes a movie about our 1953 in a satirical manner - and the Ministry of Culture meekly gives him a rental certificate, and indifferent citizens dutifully buy tickets and occupy places in the hall, where laughing they part with their past. All that we know about the Ministry of Culture with Medinsky and indifferent citizens with cans sharply contradicted this blessed picture.
Meanwhile, until yesterday something completely unprecedented in modern Russia was happening. The Ministry of Culture was silent. The public was silent. Unless our famous lady cultural studio Pavel Pavel Zvelilo informed the Air Force correspondent that "if the film has a hint of some kind of love of Joseph Vissarionovich and Nikita Sergeyevich, this is practiced in Western films," then this ugliness will be placed. But he was mistaken, the poor man, having confused the traditions of foreign cinema with living Russian literary classics, after which he did not speak out more on a given topic. It got to the point that the department of Medinsky issued a rental certificate to the picture, and it seemed that the irreparable was about to happen. "Death of Stalin" will be shown in our cinemas.
This event was very upset. It turned out, I do not know at all the country in which I lived for so many years and I am writing about. And I have no idea about the authorities, which now manage the culture. I incorrectly imagine the Minister of Medinsky. I am inbustaining about Pavel Eater. As is often the case with people who have come off from their native soil.
That is why I was so happy all yesterday, absorbing fresh news about Stalin and his death. Closed viewing in the Ministry of Culture, after which Nikita Mikhalkov stated that "such films simply should not reach Russia," and Elena Drapeko promised "a strong fire from this film." Reading in the state -forming newspaper an unflattering review about the descendants of our allies in the anti -Hitler coalition, who were not ashamed of the "propaganda war" to shoot the most sickening film about the USSR in recent history. " Consistently, literally within a few hours, learning that the cinema was first postponed until the summer, so as not to insult the veterans of the Battle of Stalingrad, then it is forbidden at the box office, and now it was sent for legal examination. In order to find out whether the British, the French and domestic distributors were muffled over the feelings of Russians who did not see and see comedy.
It was a joy of recognition. Clear confirmation that the author of these lines located in the message did not lose their relations with his country in a foreign land and knows something most importantly about his homeland. Something that a proud gaze of an alien does not drive.
In particular, the undeniable truth that the authorities in Russia always know what books, films, works of painting will approve, and which angrily condemn. That the authorities in Russia sometimes scratch his head for a long time, looking for what else to prohibit, but if he finds Kramol, he rushes at it with the entire leading crowd and stomps on it for a long time. It is even strange that the satirical comedy about Soviet leaders and military leaders, based on real facts, almost reached the cinemas. The suspicion creeps up that there was a failure and bosses, tired of various previous scandals - with a fiery hazardous Matilda, with Kirill Serebrennikov, with the dissertation of Medinsky, finally, it somehow distracted and did not recognize the Russophobic provocation in time. So I had to hastily organize the “appeal of lawyers” and collect public council at the Ministry of Culture, and it went like clockwork there. Everyone spoke out, everyone was indignant, horror declared everyone - and defended Stalin, Beria and Gulag.
Although it is possible that during the scandal, the bureaucratic wisdom of the Minister of Culture was remarkably manifested. He, perhaps, patiently waited for a convenient moment to deal with his long-standing enemies. A week ago, they clashed with him, demanding to immediately restore foreign films transferred to the box office in February, and Medinsky forced to change the decision. Now he took a revenge, stopping the wrecking sortie of Western agents of influence under the guise of merchants. At the same time, and affected them. The money was a lot of money - both for the purchase, and for advertising, and for the voice acting of this Franco -British ideological sabotage. True, distributors can sue the Ministry of Culture, but the minister is not a pity for budget funds, and hardly his enemies will win. You never have robbed and lost in those ships where they opposed the state.
And we can celebrate the main victory and I can celebrate it now. I believed in them, real post -Soviet patriots, the Stalinist eagles, the faithful Ruslans of the agitprop, as I could not believe, and they did not disappoint. The only request: another time it is not necessary to simmer and scare, incenting to the idea that in Putin Russia they suddenly took and canceled censorship. These are thoughts not only stupid, but also dangerous. Once they were delayed, the other, for the third time they did not keep track - and suddenly heard laughter. Who, asked, laughs? And the Russians laugh: it is scary to say over Stalin, over the Ministry of Culture. At home and abroad, all over the earth. A terrible picture, sacrilege, insulting feelings, continuous extremism. Do not bring Russians to sin.
