The Supreme Court of Tatarstan approved a fine to the deputy chairman of the All-Tatar Public Center Galishan Nuriakhmet for criticizing the language policy of the authorities at the rally, writes Idel. Realities".

On December 21, 2017, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan found Nuriakhmet guilty under Part 1 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event by the organizer). The court fined the man ten thousand rubles.

On October 14, a rally was held in Kazan , organized by Nuriahmet. Initially, the rally was dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of those who fell during the capture of the city by Ivan the Terrible. However, among the posters were those that criticized the language policy of the authorities. The protesters demanded the study of the Tatar language in the schools of Tatarstan and the organization of "independent Tatar education, from kindergarten to the national university." The court decided that these posters did not meet the purpose of the event.

At the meeting, law enforcers also noted that the protesters "made statements about the boycott of the presidential elections" and "criticism against the authorities of the republic."

Galishan Nuriahmet is going to file a complaint by way of supervision.
