The marriage of Katerina Tikhonova, whom the media calls the daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and billionaire Kirill Shamalov broke up, writes Bloomberg , citing four anonymous sources. At the same time, the agency does not specify whether the divorce was formalized.
Shamalov returned to one of the high positions in the Sibur company, where he previously owned a stake worth several billion dollars.
“The change in Shamalov’s position reveals the intricate ways in which family, friendship and financial ties in Putin’s inner circle are intertwined,” writes Bloomberg, tying the sale of a stake in Sibur to a family spat. According to the interlocutors of the agency, the share in the company was sold to Shamalov as a member of the family of the President of the Russian Federation.
Despite parting ways with the president's family, Shamalov's fortune is estimated at about $800 million, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index, and his main asset is his remaining 3.9% stake in Sibur.
