Two Navalny supporters were arrested in Kirov

Pervomaisky District Court of Kirov arrested two supporters of Navalny. Georgy Uspensky, assistant coordinator of the headquarters, for five days for organizing the action on October 7. Volunteer Richard Rose - for three days for non-payment of a fine. This was reported to OVD-Info by the coordinator of the local headquarters Anton Metelev.

Georgy Uspensky was detained at the exit from the house. He was taken to the department, and then to the court. The activist was charged with part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses - organizing or holding a public event without filing a notification. Richard Rose was stopped by the traffic police on his way to work.

Now both are in the detention center.

• On December 25, the Central Election Commission refused to register oppositionist Alexei Navalny as a presidential candidate in the 2018 elections due to an outstanding criminal record. After that, the politician called for a boycott of the presidential elections in 2018 and announced for January 28 an all-Russian protest action - “Voter Strike”.

Before the "Strike", the police actively detain Navalny's supporters, conduct searches at the politician's headquarters and seize campaign materials and equipment. The city authorities refuse to approve the action or offer to transfer them to remote sites.
