Three Navalny supporters were detained in Penza for posting leaflets

In Penza, the police detained the coordinator of Navalny's headquarters, Anton Strunin, and two volunteers for putting up leaflets. This was reported to OVD-Info by Ekaterina Bessonova, volunteer of the headquarters.

According to her, there is no connection with Strunin, he disappeared. A protocol is drawn up for volunteers.

According to the page of the politician's team on Vkontakte, the detainees were taken to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Penza.

UPD 20.20: All detainees were released from the department. They drew up a protocol under Part 1 of Article 5.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses - the production or distribution of printed, audiovisual and other campaign materials during the preparation and conduct of elections, a referendum in violation of the requirements established by the legislation on elections and referendums.

• On December 25, the Central Election Commission refused to register oppositionist Alexei Navalny as a presidential candidate in the 2018 elections due to an outstanding criminal record. After that, the politician called for a boycott of the presidential elections in 2018 and announced for January 28 an all-Russian protest action - “Voter Strike”.

Before the "Strike", the police actively detain Navalny's supporters, conduct searches at the politician's headquarters and seize campaign materials and equipment. The city authorities refuse to approve the action or offer to transfer them to remote sites.
