The Volga District Military Court (Samara) at the exit session in the premises of the Kazan garrison military court sentenced the 17 years in a maximum regime colony Amir Khakimullin, Tatar-Inform reports . It is found guilty of parts 1 and 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (organization and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).

According to the investigation, Khakimullin from February 2014 to March 2016 created and led the activities of the Kazan cell "Hizb Ut-Taurir", and also engaged in the selection and recruitment among believers of Kazan. The defendant did not plead guilty, but did not deny that he was a member of the organization. At the same time, Khakimullin said that Hizb Ut-Tahrir was recognized as a terrorist organization incorrectly.

In March 2016, Khakimullin was detained during a large -scale special operation of the security forces, which took place in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Almetyevsk. The searches were a total of 21 addresses. In total, 17 people were detained and 10 criminal cases were instituted. The names of four detainees with Khakimullin are known. This is Marat Dandarov, Ramil Gataullin, Ilshat Battalov and Ibrahim Shavkatov.

On December 28, the court sentenced 39-year-old Dandarov and 23-year-old Shavkatov to, respectively, to seven and six years of a general regime colony under part 2 of article 205.5.

Over the years of the reign of Vladimir Putin in Tatar, a whole series of cases of Hizb Ut-Tahrir were fabricated. On December 8, in the previous such case, the court sentenced eight Muslims to terms of 16 years to 19 years and two months . All of them are found guilty of the articles on the organization of the activities of a terrorist and extremist organization, some were charged with financing of terrorism. The defendants of the case have been in jail since October 2014. The human rights center "Memorial" recognized them political prisoners.

In April last year, four participants in Hizb-Ut-Tahrir received from 16 to 18 years of strict regime. On August 8, the Supreme Court of Russia left these terms unchanged .
