Police came to Navalny's headquarters in Tyumen

Police officers came to Navalny's campaign headquarters in Tyumen. A volunteer of the headquarters told about this to OVD-Info.

Two volunteers Alexander Ruznyaev and Ekaterina Vedernikova were given protocols under Part 1 of Art. 5.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (production and distribution of campaign materials).

Yesterday Vedernikova was already detained by law enforcement officers, but was released without a protocol.

In addition, the police seized 50 leaflets of the "Voters' Strike" action. They presented the decision of the head of the working group of the election commission, according to which the leaflets of Navalny's campaign were recognized as illegal campaigning. However, the volunteer states that the headquarters staff has a court decision, according to which such decisions have no legal force.

On December 25, the Central Election Commission refused to register oppositionist Alexei Navalny as a presidential candidate in the 2018 elections due to an outstanding conviction in the Kirovles case. After that, the politician called for a boycott of the presidential elections in 2018 and announced for January 28 an all-Russian protest action - “Voter Strike”.
