On January 26, the Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested Elizaveta Merkulova, an activist from the campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny, for three days. A protocol was drawn up against her on the organization of an uncoordinated event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported to OVD-Info by another activist of the headquarters, Polina Kostyleva.
Merkulova and two other activists were detained on January 26, the police came to the house of all three. Mikhail Sosin and Ekaterina Shlikhta, according to Kostyleva, are to have court hearings on January 31.
The activists were accused of putting up posters for an event on October 7, 2017 in support of Navalny. Merkulova was considered the organizer, although she was not the applicant for the action.
Earlier it was reported that Merkulova was taken to a special detention center, but the details were not known.
