The European Court of Human Rights announced decisions on the complaints of the defendants of the swamp case Andrei Barabanov, Alexei Polikhovich Stepan Zimin. This was reported to the "faces" by the lawyers of the Agora group Irina Khrunova and Svetlana Sidorkina, representing the interests of Barabanov and Polikhovich in the ECHR.

The European Court ordered the Government of Russia to pay compensation in the amount of 10 thousand euros to Barabanov and 12.5 thousand EUS Zimin and Polikhovich. The interests of the latter were also represented by lawyer Dmitry Agranovsky.

The Strasbourg Court found the Russian authorities guilty of violations in the election and extension of the detention of applicants. Thus, Article 5 of the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms was violated - the right to freedom and personal integrity. In addition, Article 11 of the Freedom of Assembly was violated, the court considered. In cases with Zimin and Polikhovich, the ECHR also established a violation of Article 3, indicating inhuman maintenance in the courtroom in a glass cage.

At the same time, the ECHR did not make a separate decision under Article 6 (the right to a fair trial), 10 (freedom of expression) and 18 (restriction of the use of restrictions on rights) of the Convention, since, according to judges, "these articles are covered by Article 11 of the European Convention."

In May 2015, the ECHR communicated andgave priority to the complaints of Barabanov, Polikhovich and another person involved in the first marsh case Artem Saveelov.

On February 24, 2014, the chairman of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow, Natalia Nikishina, sentenced Barabanova to 3 years 7 months of a general regime, Zimin and Polikhovich - to 3 years 6 months, part 2 of Article 212 (participation in riots) and part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (the application of non -hazardous violence to a representative of the authorities). On June 20, the College of the Moscow City Court consisting of the chairman of the judge Olga Nedenina, as well as the judges of Ekaterina Fisenko and Olga Svirenko, left the sentences to the Politsyki in force.
