In Kazan, the court did not satisfy the claim of the All-Tatar Public Center against the prosecutor’s office

The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan did not satisfy the claim of the All-Tatar Public Center (VTOC) against the prosecutor's office of Tatarstan. It is reported by "Idel. Realities". The head of the WTOC, Farit Zakiyev, said that the court's decision "in the future may become a reason for the liquidation of the WTOC."

Zakiev asked the court to invalidate the prosecutor's warning "about the inadmissibility of carrying out extremist activities." At the meeting, he recalled the independent psychological and linguistic conclusion of specialists from the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. They found no extremism in the materials of the center.

In October 2017, the prosecutor’s office of Tatarstan issued a warning to the VTOC “about the inadmissibility of carrying out extremist activities.” The prosecutor accused the center of maintaining documentation exclusively in the Tatar language and inciting hatred on the basis of "attitude towards the language."

On August 21, the police searched the house of the head of the VTOC and presented him with a decision to open a criminal case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity). According to Zakiev, law enforcement officers had complaints about the posters of the center. The search was also carried out in the center's office. The charter and founding documents of the organization were removed from it.

In May 2017, the court recognized the VTOC branch in Naberezhnye Chelny as an extremist organization. Zakiev stated that the VTOC had nothing to do with this branch.
