The police opened a criminal case for vandalism (Article 214 of the Criminal Code) after a smoke bomb was thrown at the office of the United Russia party in the Khovrino district, the Moscow agency reports , citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
“At approximately 11:50 p.m. on January 30, an unknown person broke a window in the building of the regional executive committee of the United Russia party at 53 Onezhskaya Street, after which he threw an object resembling a smoke bomb inside and disappeared. Thus, an unknown person damaged property in a public place,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
According to a Moscow source, the case was opened the day after the incident, January 31. The police are currently conducting investigations and looking for a suspect.
Earlier, an employee of the United Russia office told Mediazona that three people threw fireworks at the window of the premises; one of them filmed what was happening on camera.
